введение и закрепление нового лексического материала;
– развивающая:
формирование общеучебных универсальных действий употребления
новых лексических единиц в речи с помощью информационного поиска (с
применением электронного словаря Ex-word Casio);
– воспитательная:
воспитание уважительного отношения к окружающей среде;

Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
T: How are you today?
S: We are fine, thank you.
T: What’s the date today? And what day of week is it?
S: It’s the 24th of November, Wednesday.
T: What the weather like today in November?
S: It’s cold and windy. It’s freezing.
T: Is the weather typical of November in Russia?
S: Yes, of course.
T: And is the weather now typical of Australia?
S: No. The weather there is always hot and sunny.
T: Has the autumn weather changed in Russia during the past 10 years?
S: Of course, it was colder and there was already snow in the streets in November.
T: And can you guess why it has changed? Have people changed it?
S: May be.
T: So today we will speak about how we, people, can change our planet for the bad
and for the good. And our topic today is “Animals in Danger”.
II. Фонетическая разминка
T: But before talking about animals let’s look at the blackboard and read the
tongue twister.
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
[ ʌ ], [ u: ], [tʃ ], [ w ], [ k ] .
T: Let’s first translate this proverb. It’s time for your little helpers. The EX-word
Dictionaries can help you.
T: Great! Now let’s train to say the twister as good as possible. (Звук-СловоСловосочетание-Предложение).
III. Введение нового лексического материала по теме
T: SO, now we are ready to start. People must protect our planet. But how? DO
you have any ideas? I’ll help you. Look at the blackboard.
1) Save plants, trees.
2) Do not kill animals.
3) Keep fresh water clean.
4) Save water at home.
5) Grow up fruit and vegetables in gardens in summer.
T: These are not all the rules but you must follow them if you live in the city.
As we speak about ecology you will need some new words. I would like you to
divide into groups. Each group will get a list of words they are to discuss and
prepare for us.
All the words are on the black board.

Группа получает набор слов (2-3 слова).
T: You have 7 minutes to work with the EX-word Dictionary. За отведенное
время каждой группе необходимо найти определение, узнать часть речи и
возможные понятные словосочетания ваших слов в электронном словаре.
( Учитель обязательно ходит по группам и помогает подобрать определения, так, чтобы
они соответствовали теме урока «The World Around Us».
Группа ищет слова в словаре и называет их определение (дефиницию) для учеников
других групп. Ученики должны угадать слово. Ученики так же могут попросить дать им
подсказки: часть речи или примерное предложение (контекст), в котором это слово
употребляется. За каждый новый вопрос ученик получает баллы)
Example:
«fresh» - (of water) not salty.
(Можно дать определение слова как на русском, так и на английском языке (в
зависимости от уровня подготовки).
Подсказки к этому слову: adjective, транскрипция или словосочетание fresh water, fresh
vegetables.
T: Look at the blackboard and check your answers. Now I want you to change the
words. Now each group must make up as many collocations with the given words
as you can. You can use the any EX-word Dictionary as well.
Example: Among the trees, to save animals, a high mountain etc.
T: For every correct word you will get a mark.
IV. Закрепление введенного лексического материала.
T: Now let’s look at the picture on p. 117 and find where the mice have hidden.
T: Now answer my questions using ONLY new words.
1) Where is our school situated?
2) What do doctors do?
3) Where do birds fly?
4) Why can you see the whole London form the London Eye?
5) What are the rules in the game of hide-and-seek?
6) Why is it dangerous to swim in the sea?
7) What vegetables are healthier: in the shop or in the country house and why?
V. Подведение итогов
T: So today we discussed with you the new words which will help us at the next
lesson.
