2. THERE, WHERE THE LORD IS
A Gospel exposition song, summarizing the attributes of the Kingdom of God for the Bible
illiterate masses in Russia. Valerii Cherednichenko’s song is simple and easy for all to
understand. It is especially suitable for those ethnic minorities (more than 180 of them) who have
less than perfect understanding of the Russian language. Almost everyone can grasp the ideas.
Each line of the song has a simple grammatical structure (there where the Lord is) followed by
one or more values (peace, love, freedom), all of which are high frequency words easily found in
everyone’s vocabulary. One of the most charming spots in the song is when Valerii is joined by
his six year old daughter, her beautiful young voice accenting the clarity and simplicity of the
message. This song is from Valerii’s songs compiled for us by Sasha and Olga Kolmakov,
members of the Bethany Pentecostal Church. They opened their home to me, fed me, and
introduced me to a whole circle of Godly loving people. Twice a week they host home praise and
