Look at the pictures and read the story. Write some words to complete the
sentences about the story. You can use 1, 2, 3 or 4 words.
Robert the Robot
My name is Anna and I have a little brother called
Harry. Harry loves toy robots. He has lots of them.
His favourite robot is called Robert. My parents gave
Harry the robot when he was a baby. Robert the
Robot goes everywhere with Harry. He takes it to
school, to the bathroom and to bed. And he always
takes it with him when he goes on holiday.
Last Saturday was a lovely day. The sky was blue and
the sun was bright and our family went to the beach. Dad drove the car and Harry and I sang
songs. We had a great time at first. We went swimming and we played on the sand. Then we
sat under a big umbrella and had our picnic. After the picnic we were all very tired, so we slept.
When we woke up Harry said, “Oh no!” “What’s wrong?” said Mum. “Where’s Robert the
Robot?” said Harry. “I can’t find him. We’ve lost Robert the Robot!” We helped Harry look for
the toy for a long time. We looked in our picnic box and in the car. But we couldn’t see him
anywhere. Harry was very sad. Then Dad saw something in the sand. It was two small grey feet.
“Look!” he said. “I think that’s Robert the Robot! We’ve found him.” Harry was very happy.
