разная – православная и католическая;
отмечается шире;
CONCLUSION
• Russian and Great Britain are both Christian countries
but they celebrate Christmas in different days because
they use old and new calendars.
• Legend about Jesus Christ’s birth is based on the Bible.
• The British like Christmas, the Russians prefer New Year
very much because they have holidays, get and give
beautiful presents. The people are happy and merry.
• The houses decorated with many beautiful things look
very nice. But in Russia we decorate a tree before New
Year and it usually stands till Christmas.
• Our peoples like presents, but the Russians put
them under the tree, in the UK – into special
stockings.
CONCLUSION
• The British children love Santa Clause, the
Russian ones – Father Frost, they believe in
these fairy characters and even write letters to
them.
• Both countries have the tradition
to lay Christmas\ New Year table, but
dishes are different.
CONCLUSION
Christmas and New Year traditions in the UK
and in Russia are different, although the history
of the holidays is alike.
Everyone in the UK and in Russia enjoy these
festivals very much.
Our peoples have a lot of beautiful customs.
Jingle Bells
1.Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.
Bells on bobtail ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight!
Chorus: Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
Oh! What fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
Oh! What fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!
2.A day or two ago, I thought I’d take a ride,
And soon Miss Fannie Bright was sitting by my side.
The horse was lean and lank, misfortune was his lot.
He got into a snowdrift bank – and we? We got upset!
Chorus
3. So now the moon is bright, enjoy it while you are young.
Invite your friends tonight to sing this sleighing song.
Just get a bob-tailed nag and give him extra feed.
Then hitch him to an open sleigh – and crack! You’ll take the lead!
Chorus
