THE BEST OF BRITISH POP
The Beatles were the most popular hand of the 60’s.
The four members, John Lennon, Paul McCartney,
George Harrison and Ringo Starr were all born in
Liverpool, England.Their first record, “Love Me
Do ‘came out on 5th October, 1962. By 1964, The
Beatles were famous all over the world. Everywhere
they went, thousands of tans - boys and girls - followed
them. In 1965 The Beatles performed at Shea Stadium
in New York to a crowd of 55,000 screaming tans. It was
the largest live concert in history.
The Beatles gave their last performance on 30th January,
1969, on top of Apple building in London. In 1970,
the hand decided to split up. Paul made a new hand
called “Wings”; John’s new hand was called “The Plastic
Ono Band”. Both Ringo and George followed solo careers.
John Lennon died in 1980. One of his fans shot him outside
his home in New York. In the end, The Beatles
became legends. Their music touched many people’s hearts
and even today they still have millions of fans all over
the world!
